- 43.9 Mile scenic loop
- Breakfast and/or Lunch Picnic + Snacks - don't forget lots of WATER!
- Starting point: Intersection of GA-75A & GA-348 - head NW on GA-348
- Stop at Duke's Creek Falls Trailhead for very short hike 1/10 of mile to viewing platform (ADA approved) - BUSY area. $5 access fee required to park. Pay with cash at the bulletin board - or with credit card at the restroom.
- Stop at one of the paved pull-offs around mile mark 5 - not usually busy and enjoy your picnic. No picnic tables so tailgate, bring chairs or blanket.
- Stop at mile mark 7 for a great view - photo opportunity! Very busy.
- .Follow signs to Brasstown Bald. Once you turn onto 180 Spur, the road becomes steep; a sign states: no trailers.
- As you near the top, a line of cars forms waiting to pay to enter the parking area. Be prepared for a VERY busy area.
- $8 per adult which includes the shuttle to/from the top - cash is the quickest option. They will provide you a wrist band that you will need to get on the shuttle and to enter the visitor's center at the top.
- Shuttle runs every 10 minutes on weekends & lines form quickly under the shelter, between the stone wall and stone pillars w/benches. Prepare for crowds.
- Upon request, shuttle will take you to the elevator if you don't want to climb the stairs going up the visitor center/tower.
- The visitor center and viewing tower are ADA accessible and ONLY "certified service dogs"
- 360 degree views! On a clear day, you can see 4 states, Atl skyline on really clear days, miles of rolling hills, mountains, lakes, & trees galore.
- Suggest checking out the live video cams to check visibility BEFORE you go
